The Golf Clubs Steve Stricker Used to Win the Memorial

Steve Stricker Titleist Staffer

I’ll be honest with you. It’s kind of a challenge to write about Steve Stricker. Not an insurmountable challenge, mind you — because I’m a gosh darn professional — but Steve Stricker is a taller order than most golfers when it comes to inspiring seamless sentences of flowery prose. He inspires writing that mirrors his playing style. Simple, calm, and effective. No nonsense. Methodical. When you write about Stricker, you want to hit fairways and greens, you don’t want to bomb and gauge it all over the place. (Do you see what I did there? There is no level of hackiness that I won’t stoop to.)

So let’s just get down to the nuts and bolts. He was third in putting, hit 80% of the fairways, and was the only player to complete all four rounds with a score in the sixties. It’s not all that complicated and flashy a formula, but the results are hard to argue with. Don’t hit yourself into trouble, make a bunch of putts, and you’ll score well. Who knew? The golf clubs Steve Stricker used to non-boastfully propel himself into first place for the week are as follows:

Putter: Odyssey White Hot #2
