Tour Edge - Exotics Fairway Woods
The Tour Edge EXOTICS fairway woods offer breath-taking looks and radical innovation. This intensely dramatic design combines a lightweight, high-tech, titanium-cupped face with a heavier Hypersteel body. Through a revolutionary process, the two dissimilar metals, titanium and steel, are blended together by a proprietary chemical bonding process called combo-brazing.
The process starts with a hot forged Beta Titanium cup face. The cup face is then computer milled around the top of the cup with a very high precision rim that aids in the bonding process. The remainder of the body of the fairway wood is precision cast from Hypersteel. The parts must be made at very high tolerances so they will fit together perfectly allowing for the chemical bonding process to work.
Each part is heat treated separately, as Beta Ti and Hypersteel require different heat treat methods. This new proprietary chemical bonding method is the first known method of bonding titanium to steel in a strong enough fashion as to not separate upon impact of a golf ball. The intrinsic quality of the process is unparalleled, resulting in a lower center of gravity, greater spring off the face, unheard of feel, and a pure energy transfer that's not possible from a traditional welded club head.
Shafts are Fujikura High Launch graphite (Regular, Stiff and Senior flexes). Factory headcover included.
