Cayman Brac Putter
A Rife for Life with this Bluff of a Brac
Rife Golf and their history of superior putters infusing performance driven design with patented Roll Groove technology has been producing products that are truly innovative and perform competitively better than anything on the market. The latest Cayman Brac putter keeps with their solid technology foundation of putter development and with its performance even placed it as a 2012 Golf Digest Hot List Silver Award recipient.
The Cayman Brac is a classic Anser style putter featuring a plumber's neck creating a full shaft offset with a slight toe down balance making it perfect for golfers with a strong-arc putting stroke. What makes the Cayman Brac putter uniquely different from other putters in the marketplace however is its patented Roll Groove technology which consists of closely spaced grooves on the putter face that act like teeth to grip and carry the ball up out of its depression using about 1.5 to 2 degrees of loft. Without the gripping effect of Roll Groove technology, conventional putters require 4 to 6 degrees of loft to launch the ball cleanly out of its depression and toward the target. Roll Groove technology causes a lower chip and more slight backward rotation which helps to immediately roll the ball forward without skipping and skidding. The grooves also reduce the Cayman Brac putter face’s contact area with the ball by 80 percent, which softens the feel.
Another trademark of every Island Series Rife putter, and central on the Cayman Brac, is a unique notch that appears directly above the center sight line. It allows the individual golfer to adjust the putter shaft lie angle and lock in a consistent address position. Setting up to the ball the same way each time promotes a repeatable stroke path and greater accuracy. Rife refers to it as a “check and forget” feature that places the hands, eyes and putter head at a consistent triangle every time.
If you're starting to get serious about the game, then any Rife putter is a great purchase. The Cayman Brac design - innovative and good looking in either the sterling finish or the tutti-frutti tasty tropical with its unique and prism-like wear resistant finish - is a solid bet loaded with Rife technology, performance, and high quality along with reasonable, competitive pricing.
