I have used the Titleist Pro-v 1's and decided to witch to Pentas for a couple reasons:
- longer off the tee
- not as much spin (pro-v 1's were spinning back off the green)
- great, soft feel on all shots
- last longer than pro-v 1's
I was most concerned with spin when i was going to buy these. From 120 yards out, you can easily spin it back 3-6 feet. If you want the ball to 'stop and drop,' these are for you...and if you flush it, they will spin back no problem.
The only 'con' with these balls is that after 18 holes they have damage from the wedge shots. But, other than that, these golf balls are top quality and, in my opinion, worth the money.

I have been playing the ProV1 for some time. Bought some Penta tp balls & have not looked back. The Penta has great spin on short irons & wedge shots. Feels great off of the putter. I also seem to get a few more yards from my driver.

I have cycled (like many) through various flavors of balls, including but not limited to:
1. Titlelist Pro V1 and Pro V1x, and NXT
2. Nike Tour One
3. Calloway Diablo HX
4. Various lower priced (Bridgestone e6, Top Flight V2, Wilson Titanium)
One thing I have found for sure is once you are down to losing just a few balls per 18 holes, investing in a better ball is well worth it. The Taylormade Penta TP was my hands down favorite, recommended by a local golf pro shop, I tried a box at one of my favorite courses. I found the launch off the drive soft, with noticeably less spin, and at least 10 yards additional distance. I am a chronic slicer, and appreciated the flight of the ball as it comes off the driver. Hitting a bit straighter as well. Great around the greens at getting up, and certainly one of the best with the putter. Soft, with minimal spin. Just all around a great ball. Only knock is a little soft, so it gets dinged up sooner than others (although no more than the V1's). I highly recommend all levels of players to check out the Penta TP. Especially with the buy 2, get one free, it equates to $25 a box! You can't beat it, and I guarantee you will make it your top game ball. Good luck!

I have been a Prov1 player for it's checking into the greens on wedge shots. I have found that the PentaTP is as good or better for it's checking on the green. I'm definitely sold on the Penta TP.
