U.S. Kids Golf was started in January, 1997, as a solution to the problem its founder, Dan Van Horn, had when getting his kids into golf. His children, ages 3 and 6, were enthusiastic at first, but their interest quickly dropped. "They weren't having fun," Van Horn recalls. "It seemed that they lost interest after only 15 minutes. At the time, I didn't know cutoffs and junior clubs were so heavy. They were not only hurting my kids' swings, but also their desire to play." That's when Dan Van Horn began developing golf clubs specifically for children, designed to be 25% lighter than adult and most junior clubs, and formed the company U.S. Kids Golf. My daughter just turned 5 in March but she is very small for her age (41"). The clubs that I found at local sporting good stores, golf stores, and big box retailers were just too long. So, the only option that I had was to order online. I ended up ordering from golfdiscount.com because they were quick in shipping and gave me all the detailed information I needed to make a confident decision. The US Kids Golf set is such a good value. I could have spent $20-$30 less and got a set that's heavier & not quite the right length. But for little more investment, the set was perfect and it came with a slimmer cylinder bag with kick stand which was also a important feature for me. And my daughter LOVES that it's pink! =)
