It’s been a difficult summer for Anna Nordqvist. Nine weeks ago the 30-year-old Swede was diagnosed with mononucleosis. But that didn’t stop her from getting out of bed to play in the recent Solheim Cup in Iowa and winning the Evian Championship on Sunday in a one-hole playoff against Brittany Altomare.
Nordqvist now owns two major titles and a total of eight wins on the LPGA Tour.
“I hate to give up,” Nordqvist said. “My grandpa was always my biggest role model. He always used to tell me to never give up, and that’s what I never did today.”
Nordqvist shot 66, 72 and 66 in the weather-shortened 54-hole event, the last major championship of the LPGA season.
“I just felt like I wanted to go out there today and focus on what I could do. Winning didn’t really cross my mind until I was having a great couple birdies and eagles there down the stretch.”
Nordqvist uses Callaway golf clubs with the exception of three PXG wedges. Here’s a recent look at her bag.
