The United States dominated Europe to retain the Solheim Cup at Des Moines Golf and Country Club in West Des Moines, Iowa. The final score was United States 16.5, Europe 11.5.

“I’m just proud of my team,” U.S. captain Juli Inkster told Golf Channel. “The Europeans fought hard today. They made it really close. I really haven’t been nervous all week but today I was a little bit nervous. It is an honor to captain this team and I’m really proud of the girls.”

“We just got outplayed,” European captain Annika Sorenstam told Golf Channel. “There is no doubt about it. I’m just so proud of how hard they fought. It is not easy coming out here on Sunday and being so far behind, but I’m proud of them. They were fighting for every single match and every single point. Congratulations to the USA because they played some awesome golf.”

Michelle Wie, 27, made her fifth appearance in the Solheim Cup, posting a 1-2-0 record for Team USA and bringing her career record to 8-9-1.

During her fourball match with partner Danielle Kang on Friday, Wie was “blissfully oblivious that I was wearing the wrong [team]outfit.”

Wie slipped into the morning outfit instead of the afternoon outfit. “It was kind of in the back of my head. [Danielle’s] skirt looks different; maybe because she’s wearing a skirt and I’m wearing shorts.”

Everything else went right. Wie and Kang recorded a 3-and-1 victory over Madelene Sagstrom and Jodi Ewart Shadoff.

Wie uses Callaway equipment throughout her golf bag. Following is a rundown of her clubs as of August 3, 2017, when she shot a 64 in the first round of the Ricoh Women’s British Open.
