Patton Kizzire withstood a late charge by Rickie Fowler to claim his first PGA Tour title at the weather-challenged OHL Classic at Mayakoba in Playa Del Carmen, Mexico. Kizzire played steady golf throughout 36 holes on Sunday, shooting 66 and 67 for a 19-under finish that edged Fowler by a stroke.
“Rickie made me work hard,” Kizzire said.
“We gave it a run, kept Patton honest,” Fowler said, “but he earned it out there today.”
