PGA Teaching Professional Ryan Benzel of Pro Golf in Lynnwood Washington provides a helpful drill to eliminate over the top swings as well as hooking and slicing from improper swing path.
This is a common swing fault in many amateurs, with results ranging from a pull slice, which starts left and sweeps greatly to the right, or a pull hook, which goes left-to-left. This smash bag drill is going to force the golfer to swing more from the inside as they deliver the club at impact, traveling down the target line after the ball is struck. Try it out and let us know if this helps straighten out your shots. Here’s the same Smash Bag used in the video for this drill!
Stay tuned for more tips, and follow Ryan on Twitter @RBenzelGolf or find him at his Google+ page.
Do you have something you’d like Ryan to address in a future video?
