Wearing a golf glove on your lead hand—left hand if you are right-handed and right hand if you are left-handed—gives stability to your swing. Bare hands tend to sweat and simply don’t grip as well as a glove can. When you are purchasing a golf glove, make sure you find one that fits well and is made of quality materials to maximize performance. And, if you often golf in cold weather, it doesn’t hurt to have a pair of heavier weather-resistant golf gloves to keep you warm without compromising your grip.

It is important to fit golf gloves properly to ensure minimal slippage and maximum comfort. You will want your glove to be snug against your skin. Most golf gloves have gender-specific sizing for adults and generic juniors sizing for youth. If you do not know your size, it is easiest to measure the circumference of the palm of your hand and compare that number to a sizing chart.
