Can you make 100 three-foot putts in a row? Maybe or maybe not, but you’d sure get a lot better trying, right? Your short putting couldn’t help but improve.
As demonstrated by Phil Mickelson in the above video, this putting drill builds confidence and also helps his chipping.
“My thought process is: If I can make 100 putts in a row, then I’m putting to, or chipping to, a three-foot circle rather than a 4¼ inch circle [the golf hole],” Phil explains.
This putting drill has helped Mickelson win golf tournaments such as the 2005 PGA Championship. Lefty putts with an O-Works #9 putter made by Odyssey.
