On a day that begun with tragedy, seeing the young Jose Fernandez of the Miami Marlins lose his life in a boating accident, the golf and sports world on a whole was rocked with the passing of a legend. Arnold Palmer, one of golf’s greatest pioneers and greatest ambassador died in the evening on September 25th, 2016.

The consummate professional and astute businessman Arnold impacted the lives of far more people on and off the course than he will ever realize. Seemingly every single person who plays golf, or is a fan of sports has a story of The King, and every single memory speaks to the graciousness and class with which Arnold conducted himself. A friend to all and cherished by many who did not even have the chance to know him, Arnold Palmer will be greatly missed.

A few years back he was asked what he felt his legacy to the game would be, he simply and humbly said I hope I will leave the game in a better place than I found it, and if I have done that then all will be okay. Well Arnold, the game of golf would not be what it is today without you. From all of us at GolfDiscount.com rest peacefully knowing that you fulfilled your legacy and then some.

Long live The King!
