World No. 11 Tommy Fleetwood of England finished in a tie for 12th in the Open Championship. PGA pro Thomas Fleetwood of Florida got the prize money of $154,480 dumped into his bank account.
“It was an honest mistake,” the Florida Fleetwood told BBC Sport. “I tried to get on their senior tour, so they have my [bank]information.”
No joke, a friend received Tommy Fleetwood's Open Championship winnings in his bank account last weekend!! They have the same name and he was a PGA pro but still, how does this happen? Didn't believe him until I saw it…good thing he is an honest guy! pic.twitter.com/bE534xfYDV

The 58-year-old Fleetwood has been trying to reach the 27-year-old Fleetwood, according to media reports. Meanwhile, the European Tour called it a clerical error. What else could they say?
The younger Fleetwood who is currently playing in the PGA Championship took the news in stride. “It’s a funny story,” he said.
Greg Thorner, a friend of the other Fleetwood, said on Twitter, “Didn’t believe him until I saw it…good thing he is an honest guy!”
