Scottie Scheffler Triumphs at Travelers Championship Amidst Protest Interruption
Scottie Scheffler secured his sixth PGA Tour win of the year at the Travelers Championship in Cromwell, Connecticut, prevailing over Tom Kim in a playoff hole after a brief delay caused by climate protesters. Scheffler’s consistent performance, capped by a par in the playoff, marks the most victories in one season since Tiger Woods in 2009 and echoes the success Arnold Palmer saw before July in 1962. The win at this event, one of the tour’s $20 million signature events, adds $3.6 million to Scheffler’s earnings, further establishing his exceptional year which also includes wins at the Masters and The Players Championship.
