Description

Ping G SF Tec Fairway Wood

Straight and Fast.

Custom-engineered with weight closer to the heel, a lighter swing weight, and higher lofts for players whose typical miss is to the right, the G SF Tec produces right-to-left shot bend. A lower lead edge ensures contact occurs higher on the face. PING's thinnest crown ever in a PING fairway wood allows the CG to be low-back to ensure high launch, low spin and extreme forgiveness.

Fast and Stable
Carpenter 455 Face and a tiered internal sole design increases face bending for higher launching, longer results.

Easy to Get Airborne
Low profile lead edge design and optimized CG for higher launch and more forgiveness.

Turbulator Technology
Provides more accurate alignment, a captured look, and more is aerodynamic.

25% Thinner Crown
A weight savings of 7 grams lowers CG and raises MOI.

Lower Lead Edge
Sits closer to the ground and moves the impact area higher on the face of the club for more solid impact.

Alta High-Balance-Point Shaft
Gives more energy, momentum and inertia which means longer, straighter shots.

Stretch 3-Wood Option
A larger head of 184cc vs. 167cc, and deeper CG than the traditional fairway wood.

SF (Straight Flight) Tec Option
CG is positioned more on the heel-side and a lighter swingweight promotes a right-to-left shot bend.

Specifications

Loft is adjustable +/- 1° on all fairway woods.

Reviews

Very nice.
If you've tried a new PING driver offering since 2014, and still can't find a fairway, maybe it's time to question your swing - NOT the driver. This G Series driver is almost automatic - as long as you don't overswing in an effort to "hit" the ball. If you already have a good grip, alignment, aim, rhythm, tempo, and balance, you will REALLY enjoy using this driver.

Ping G 3 fairway wood
Extremely impressed with the club. Best 3 wood I have ever hit. Sits nice , good visuals and very solid. Have a tendency to cut the ball and this does help keeping it straighter. Recommend enthusiastically for the average golfer does help.

The Takeaway

The SF Tec Fairway Wood, like the driver features the weight closer to the heel, a lighter swing weight and higher lofts for the player whose typical miss is to the right. This could also replace all the great features from the neutral G Series, but will help produce a more right-to-left shot bend.

Who's It For?

The lighter weight, slightly larger head size, additional loft with a slightly closed face should help mid-high, very high handicappers and beginners who suffer from too much of a fade to a minor slice. Those that hook the ball need to look at the neutral G Series head.

Final Take

Like the SF Tec Driver, the fairway wood produced higher hard drawing shot for my golf swing. The lighter weight, slightly closed head should will help those that suffer from a fade or minor slice shot shape.

Club Tested: G SF Tec Fairway Wood; Shaft: Alta 65; Flex: Stiff; Loft: 16°
