Ping TR 1966 Anser 2 Putter
Ping TR 1966 Anser 2 Putter
Timeless and New.
In 1966, PING founder Karsten Solheim revolutionized putter design with the invention of the Anser putter –setting a standard in putter design that continues to influence putter designers around the world. Now, 50 years later, his enduring design advances putter technology with the introduction of the TR 1966 Anser and Anser 2.
During development, PING engineers relied on 3D scans of the original Anser and Anser 2 to analyze the subtle contours and radius details that Karsten personally shaped into the designs using his mill and hand files. Each of the new models is engineered with that same attention to detail and performance to carry on the winning tradition established 50 years ago.
The new putters get their name from True-Roll (TR) face technology, which provides unmatched ball-speed consistency across the precision-milled face, the key to holing more putts and reducing three-putts. PING studies show an increase in ball-speed consistency of nearly 50% when measured at nine points across the center, heel and toe.
True-Roll Groves
Both models offer the unmatched distance control and consistency of True-Roll Technology grooves that vary in width and depth from the center of the face.
Easy to Aim
A single white alignment line makes aiming the Anser 2 head easy, inspiring confidence. Its heel and toe contours are less rounded than those of the Anser and its top rail is narrower.
