Titleist 816 Hybrids
Great hybrids - longer than my Adams Blue and much more accurate on off center hits. Golf Discount has the most competitive prices and provides lightning fast service and great communication.
I'm not sure if this
I'm not sure if this is the correct format, but we bought this club as a gift for my son. It has a regular shaft and he needs a stiff shaft. Could you please send a return label so that we may exchange for a stiff shaft?

Titleist 816 Hybrid 17 degree
I love this club. Feels great and performs well. Pleasantly surprised with the distance as it is nearly as long as my Titleist 3 wood. I’m an 8 handicap and highly recommend these 816’s.
Titleist Hybrids
These are the best hybrids you can buy because they are accurate and easy to hit. Add a couple more to your bag and put away those hard to hit irons. Perfect club for older golfers.
Titleist 816 H1 hybrid
Purchased the 21 degree hybrid. A significant upgrade from previous Titleist hybrids. The ball jumps off the club face with a higher trajectory and easy distance. Highly recommend this club!
Laser Show

Titlest 816H1 Hybrid
Incredible club! Exactly as advertised, I am able to work the ball in both directions. Can pick the ball out of the rough with ease. Easy to order and had the club within 5 days!!!
Titleist has moved into the mainstream
I have never been a fan of Titleist products because the company has traditionally catered to golfers with high swing my case their metal woods have always produced lower trajectories Not so with the 816 H1s, and changing the lofts with the adjustable hosel produces significant change in trajectory at each setting, but with me the fade settings don't seem to cause much change in the ball flight (my natural flight pattern is right to left...often too much). The club is very pleasing to the eye at address (I now have two of their hybrids) and The H1 version (vs the H2) is advertised to fit a wider range of skill levels. They have for the most part achieved that, but if you have the tendency to draw or fade the ball that probably won't change by buying this club....even with the myriad of loft and direction settings possible. You can find a more forgiving hybrid, overall playability will suffer. So, I would not put the club in the "game improvement" category. The best thing about putting them in my set is that they have not produced unwanted distance gaps in the set and they give you feedback on mishits. I availed myself of the launch monitor at a local golf superstore and found with my swing speed in high 80s/low 90s that the 70 gram shaft is the ticket. That said, with whatever rayon shaft I demoed the club still felt a bit light (probably because Titleist has not gone to the longer standard club lengths, like say, Callaway). The launcher monitor didn't show any loss of distance because of that. I am still in the process of getting used the weight and balance of the clubs after 7 or 8 rounds of use. All in all, in my opinion, Titleist have done a good job in design these hybrids and I am very pleased with the purchase.

The Takeaway

Active Recoil Channel Technology actively flexes at impact to generate high speed and low spin for long distance. The ultra-thin face delivers speed and distance across the entire face. The high MOI design delivers speed on off–center hits. A relieved leading edge and Active Recoil Channel edge help them glide through the turf. Precision Fit from the SureFit Tour Sleeve provides the most precise fit and yardage gaps that Titleist has ever offered.

Who's It For?

Players of all abilities will enjoy the 816 H1, but the design is mainly for a higher launching and softer landing.

Final Take

Yet another super clean, classic looking club from Titleist. The H1 version is more on the wider side which just makes it very easy to feel confident standing over the ball. As advertised, I saw a higher launch that many of the better players look for when hitting into shorter Par 5’s or longer Par 4’s. With the SureFit sleeve, you can actually increase the loft of lower it slightly to fit your game or the course conditions that you might see on any given day. Not the longest Hybrid I’ve tested, but distance is not its main goal.

Club Tested: Shaft: Mitsubishi Diamana S+ 70; Flex: Stiff; Loft: 19°
