Here are a few useful categories so you can find the bag that best suits your priorities on the course.

Stand Bags

Great for if you walk most of your rounds of golf, many stand bags weigh less than 5 pounds and usually have 4 to 6 dividers so as to not be too bulky. Some of our favorites have more storage than it looks at first glance, including multiple pockets and sleeves for water bottles and sunscreen.

The Ping Hoofer and Hoofer Lite both offer a premier stand bag and come in at 5.5 and 5 pounds, respectively. If you want something even lighter, Ping’s Moonlander is a 4.5 pound minimalist option, with the same 4-way divider as the Hoofer Lite, but with fewer and smaller pockets. Great for an afternoon nine, or if you have a caddie on a buddies trip and want to ease the load!

The Titleist S4 and P4 bags are designed similarly to the Hoofer Lite and comes in at 4.8 and 4 pounds respectively, offering similar durability and storage at a pound lighter. If you need even lighter options, the Sun Mountain 2.5 and 3.5 pound carry bags offer premier quality at a similar weight without sacrificing form or function!

Hybrid Bags

Hybrid bags usually have stands while also being a bit bigger and heavier, with more storage and dividers for club compartments. You can walk with these bags but they are also great for carts, we recommend them if you do both equally on the course!

The Sun Mountain 14-way 3.5 model has an amazing amount of storage for clothing and valuables while also remaining relatively light, and the 2026 4.5 Eclipse model has a lower stand so that the bag will sit more easily in push cart and electric cart cradles. It’s a fantastic all-purpose option! Similar bags include the Taylormade FlexTech Crossover and Bagboy Chiller Hybrid.

Cart Bags

Cart bags are usually fully divided 14 ways, so that you have one small slot for each club and they are easy to retrieve if you have to walk over to your ball from your cart. They also fit on your push cart! These are going to be heavy, but the best options are all about storage and design. 

The Ping Pioneer and Traverse offer incredible amounts of storage with smart organization so that clubs and everything else in your bag are easy to access on the course. Ping also offers a deluxe option with the DLX cart bag.

Titleist’s Cart 14 and Cart 15 both offer similar size and durability to the Ping cart bags, a great feature about both bags is that they have an easily accessible putter well on the front of the bag, making it easy to grab your putter on the way to the green!

The Ogio Silencer has divided slots that go all the way to the bottom of the bag so that clubs never bang up against one another in the cart, and it comes in a variety of stylish options! Datrek and Bagboy have similar affordable options in cart bags as well.

PNW golfer. I just got a 100% waterproof Sun Mountain bag from you. We’ll see how true that is this fall. Maxfli bag was a fail.

The last two golf bags I bought they have ripped at the seam where the carrying strap is connected to the bag. Can someone recommend a durable bag to prevent this from happening?
