2026 Bank of Utah Championship - Austin Smotherman

Austin Smotherman Breaks Through for First PGA Tour Victory
Austin Smotherman finally reached the winner’s circle Sunday, capturing the Bank of Utah Championship at Black Desert Resort in Ivins, Utah, for his first PGA Tour title in his 100th career start. Smotherman closed with a 3-under 68 to finish at 26-under par, two shots ahead of Doug Ghim.
Smotherman built a four-shot lead during the final round before a costly double bogey on the 13th briefly opened the door for the chasing pack. He responded with key birdies on Nos. 14 and 16 to regain control and never surrendered the lead.
The victory caps a long journey for the 32-year-old, who worked his way through professional golf before establishing himself on the PGA Tour. After a runner-up finish at the Cognizant Classic earlier this year, Smotherman finally converted his opportunity in Utah.
His win earned him $1.08 million, 500 FedExCup points and a two-year PGA Tour exemption. More importantly, after 100 starts, Smotherman can finally call himself a PGA Tour winner.
